Understanding Essential Oils
Essential oils are concentrated aromatic extracts obtained from parts of plants such as flowers, leaves, peels, bark, roots and seeds. Depending on the plant, they may be collected through steam distillation, cold pressing or another specialised extraction method.
What does “essential” mean?
The word “essential” refers to the plant’s characteristic aroma, not to a nutrient that the body requires. Because the finished extract is far more concentrated than the original plant material, a small quantity can be powerful and should always be used with care.
Quality and transparency
Not all oils are produced or formulated in the same way. Botanical name, plant part, extraction method, purity, storage and suitable method of use all matter. We believe clear labelling and responsible sourcing are essential when choosing ingredients for the home and family.
Always read the full product label. Follow the directions for that specific product and never assume that an oil suitable for a diffuser is automatically suitable for skin application or swallowing.
Our approach
EENVOUDIG products are created for simple everyday rituals, with practical directions and ingredient information supplied for each blend. We encourage moderate, informed use and honest expectations. Aromatic products can form part of a comforting routine, but they are not a substitute for medical care.
